The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and the Texas General Land Office in collaboration with the Texas Department of Agriculture are offering a workshop to provide an in depth look at the environmental process.

This workshop will provide hands-on training for HUD's Environmental Regulations found at 24 CFR Part 58 for HOME, CDBG and NSP funded activities (e.g. multifamily housing, single family housing, infrastructure and disaster recovery). This workshop will provide the level of information required based on your needs, your time constraints and your level of expertise. You build the workshop to best fit your needs.

  • May 2nd at 1:00 PM - a beginners’ half-day opening session focused on the levels of review and a detailed explanation of how to tier projects. This is a must for beginners and a good refresher for those that utilize tiering and this is the ONLY session that will discuss tiering. (Not Appropriate for Multifamily Participants)
  • On May 3rd at 8:00 AM - a One Hour Updates and Common Mistakes session for those who want a quick “just the facts” update
  • May 3rd at 9:00 AM – May 5th at Noon - a two and a half day training on the HUD, Part 58 Environmental Process including, step by step in depth training, case studies, examples, exercises and group projects

What can you expect from the 2 ½ day training?

    • Case Studies
    • Round Table Discussions
    • Step by Step demonstration of resources used to complete the environmental review including but not limited to:
      • Noise
