These standards apply to new construction and reconstruction HOME and Neighborhood Stabilization Program ("NSP") Multifamily Housing Developments that began construction after March 12, 2012; rehabilitation HOME and NSP Multifamily Housing Developments that submitted a full application for funding after January 1, 2014; and all Housing Tax Credit and Tax Exempt Bond developments that submitted a full application for funding after January 1, 2014.The training will cover the differences between the construction requirements of Section 504 of the rehab act of 1973 and the 2010 ADA standards. Special focus will be on kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools and playgrounds.

1701 Congress Avenue Austin, TX The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs ("TDHCA") will be holding a roundtable and discussion forum on June 6, 2014 to collect input on the development of additional rules and guidance for Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing and tenant selection criteria and policies for multifamily rental developments. TDHCA staff expects to provide additional materials, including a general list of topics for discussion and/or a staff draft of affirmative marketing and tenant selection rules prior to the roundtable. Such additional materials will be posted to the website at a later date and an additional listserv will notify interested parties when the information becomes available. Additionally, current affirmative marketing and tenant selection criteria are located at Sections 10.617 and 10.610 of the Uniform Multifamily Rules, respectively. Roundtable attendees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these rules.The roundtable will be held on June 6, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Room 1-111 at the Travis Building located at 1701 Congress Avenue just north of the State Capitol.
