Event Details:

This workshop will provide the tools necessary to comply with HUD's Environmental Regulations found at 24 CFR Part 58 for HOME, CDBG, ESG and NSP funded activities (e.g. multifamily housing, single family housing, ESG reviews for rehabilitation/new construction of shelters or new leasing of shelters). This workshop will also include components on the National Housing Trust Fund Environmental Provisions and 811 Environmental Requirements for submission.

What You Should Know:

  • Due to enrollment constraints, first priority will be given to those entities that currently have or will be awarded a contract with TDHCA, as well as professionals that perform reviews regularly.
  • This training is not meant for beginners and will be a fast-paced interactive workshop; however, if you do still want to attend as a beginner you will be required to utilize HUD’s WISER (Web-Based Instructional System for Environmental Review) to familiarize yourself with the Environmental Process. At a minimum you should complete the “Getting Started: Part 58” and “Getting Started: Tools and Resources” modules. WISER modules can be found at the following link: https://www.hudexchange.info/trainings/wiser/ All attendees can access these modules.
  • Attendees should bring their lap-top to participate in the exercises and group activities. Attendees should have experience working on a computer, should be comfortable with internet searches and Adobe Acrobat or equivalent software. Internet access will be provided.

  • What can I bring into the event? Bring a sweater or jacket as the room may be cooler than normal, we will not have the ability to adjust the temperature. Must bring own laptop, internet connectivity will be provided.
