Local officials and citizens are encouraged to participate in the hearing process. Written and oral comments received will be used to finalize the PY 2012 Texas Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan and Application. Written comments from those who cannot attend the hearing in person may be provided by the close of business at 5:00 p.m. on December 6, 2011, to Ms. Cate Taylor, Senior Planner, Energy Assistance Section, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, PO Box 13941, Austin, Texas 78711 or by electronic mail to cate.taylor@tdhca.state.tx.us. Second St. Austin, TX The plan promotes coordination of state, federal, and local efforts and proposes goals, objectives, and strategies to help state agencies better serve those experiencing and at risk of homelessness. The four priority areas in the plan are: (1) Data, research, and analysis; (2) Affordable housing and supportive services; (3) Homelessness prevention; and (4) State infrastructure. During the public hearings, the Texas Interagency Council for the Homeless (TICH) will take input related to these four priority areas, the plan in general, and the State's response to homelessness. TICH asks that speakers with prepared written comment provide TICH representatives with a copy of their oral testimony at the time of the hearing.
