1701 Congress Ave. Austin, TX The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs ("Department") is working to meet an aggressive timeline to plan for rapid design and implementation of a new Single Family business model. This new model is a key objective of the organization changes that will be recommended to the Governing Board of the Department on April 12th.
Programs included in this effort are Single Family HOME, Housing Trust Fund, Bond/First-Time Homebuyer and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). The vision of the new model is to align and streamline all single family program rules, policies, applications, forms and processes.
The purpose of this roundtable is to ensure that the stakeholder groups have ample opportunity to provide input and feedback on this new model and related policy and process changes.
In order to ensure that the stakeholder groups have ample opportunity to provide input and feedback on this new model and related policy and process changes, the Department will be providing several public input opportunities through a variety of mediums. The Department will host an online webinar on Thursday, April 19th. Additionally, online public forums will be established to provide further communication opportunities.
Further details regarding the upcoming Single Family Programs webinar and the online public forum will be provided as needed via email listserv and through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter as appropriate. Please register online to attend. On Friday April 27, 2012, the Department will host a webinar to introduce the State Health & Safety Plan to agencies. The purpose of this webinar is to update and provide clarification and additional information related to the implementation and installation of health and safety measures as part of the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).
At least one member from each WAP agency is required to attend. All WAP Directors, coordinators, staff and contractors are encouraged to attend. This webinar will also be recorded and posted on the Department's website for future reference.
