The Regional Allocation Formula (RAF) Methodology utilizes appropriate statistical data to measure the affordable housing need and available resources in the 13 State Service Regions that are used for planning purposes. The RAF also allocates funding to rural and urban subregions within each region. The RAF is revised annually to reflect current data, respond to public comment, and better assess regional housing needs and available resources. The public comment period for the Draft 2023 RAF Methodology will be open from Monday, June 20, 2022, through Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Austin local time. Written comments concerning the Draft 2022 RAF Methodology may be submitted by mail to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Housing Resource Center, P.O. Box 13941, Austin, TX 78711-3941, by email to info@tdhca.state.tx.us. Comments must be received no later than Thursday, July 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Austin local time. The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Compliance Staff will host a virtual training with regards to Supportive Services and all low-income programs. The virtual training will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on July 12, 2022.This training will focus on the monitoring requirements for developments that have LURA requirements for Supportive Services. All affordable housing property owners, management personnel and on-site staff that operate a development that has Supportive Services requirements should attend the training. The course is taught by TDHCA compliance staff and will cover 10 TAC §10.619 Monitoring for Social Services. At the training you will:- Focus on the monitoring requirements for Supportive Services.- Learn where to look in the Land Use Restriction Agreement (LURA) for information regarding Supportive Services.- Get answers to your questions about Supportive Services.While this training is virtual, you must register in order to attend; there is no cost to attend. The Housing and Health Services Coordination Council (HHSCC) is codified in Texas Government Code 2306.1091. The purpose of the Council is to increase state efforts to offer service-enriched housing through increased coordination of housing and health services. The Council seeks to improve interagency understanding and increase the number of staff in state housing and health services agencies that are conversant in both housing and services. The Department has released the 2022 ESG NOFA in the amount of $9,381,281. The competitive award application will open Tuesday, July 5, 2022, and will close Friday, July 29, 2022, at 5 p.m., Central Time.
