Department Revises Comment Period, Hearings Schedule for CDBG Action Plan
TDHCA has revised its previously published public comment period for its proposed Texas Action Plan for Disaster Recovery, which outlines how the state will use $428.7 million in federal Community Development Block Grant funds to help communities affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita with their recovery efforts. The Department has also rescheduled three public hearings it will conduct in Austin, Houston, and Beaumont to seek public comment on the plan.
The comment period for this second supplemental CDBG Action Plan now runs from Friday, December 15, 2006, through close of business on Monday, January 2, 2007. The public hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, in Austin and Houston; and Wednesday, December 20, in Beaumont. Information relating to the plan, times and locations for the public hearings, and other details on TDHCA's disaster relief efforts can be found on the Department's website. Please check this site often, as the Department is still awaiting confirmation regarding a location for the Houston hearing.
The action plan will be available for review on the website beginning December 15. Interested parties may request a hard copy by calling TDHCA at 1-800-525-0657 or (512) 475-3976. The public notification and plan are also being published in Spanish and Vietnamese to enhance the ability of persons with limited English proficiency to provide public comment on this document.
Public comment will be accepted directly at each public hearing. Comment may also be provided in writing via mail to: TDHCA Division of Policy and Public Affairs, P.O. Box 13941, Austin, TX 78711-3941; fax at: (512) 469-9606; or via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
