Department creates oversight office for ARRA funds
TDHCA has created a new Office for Recovery Act Accountability and Oversight to assist the agency in administering new federal funds resulting from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) in a manner consistent with its core values of transparency, accountability and responsiveness.
This new office is dedicated to examining all issues related to ARRA with an emphasis on streamlining reports, sharing guidance, communicating and coordinating with the Governor’s Office and TDHCA’s legislative oversight committees, and working with Internal Audit to identify and mitigate risk in program development and operations.
Staff is currently working to expedite delivery of these funds to serve greater numbers of Texans in need, while creating employment opportunities to enhance the state’s economy. The Department encourages everyone to visit the ARRA Web site to learn about new developments as TDHCA begins to implement the many significant initiatives associated with the Act.
