Department Awards $24 Million in 2006-2007 HOME Program Single Family Cycle

TDHCA's Governing Board on August 30 awarded $24 million in grants and loans to 91 cities, counties, public housing authorities, and nonprofit organizations through the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program's 2006-2007 Single Family funding cycle. TDHCA estimates that these grants and loans will benefit approximately 854 households throughout Texas.

Award recipients may use HOME funds from TDHCA to repair or replace homes owned and occupied by low income households, provide down payment assistance for qualifying homebuyers, or provide rent payment assistance to income eligible renters. Households receiving assistance must earn an annual income of less than 80 percent of the area median family income.

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development is the HOME Program’s funding source. For a complete list of all 91 cities, counties, and nonprofit organizations receiving an award, please visit TDHCA's HOME Program webpage.
