June is Homeownership Month, and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs would like to use this opportunity to remind everyone that, as the state’s key affordable homeownership expert, resource, and funding administrator, the Department supports homeowners in a number of ways.
TDHCA administers programs that support homeownership, from home purchase to rehabilitation, reconstruction, or replacement, to weatherization and accessibility modifications for enhanced safety and affordability.
The great news for homeowners is that the support these programs provide may be available in their communities through local city or county governments, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, public housing authorities, and others who are also dedicated to supporting homeowners.
Homeowners who may need assistance should visit TDHCA’s Help for Texans page and follow the three easy steps to get a list of local providers who may get funding through TDHCA or other resources. Simply select a provider for a description of their services and more contact information. Contact them and apply for help.
